Holiday Inn Dover UK

In the last 2 months i have unfortunately had to drive from Switzerland to the UK twice - both times I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Dover - on both occasions staff extremely professional and helpful. Room clean and comfortable - first class service all round which took some of the stress from the current travel nightmare.

I never like to write bad review for…

I never like to write bad review for anyone but the service I got today made me do it
I booked 4 rooms for my whole family
Holiday Inn Columbia East-Jessup

When I got to the front desk at 12pm to request for little extra time because I had 7 children with us, the person at the front desk was talking rudely and said you guys have only 15 minutes to leave or we will charge you for an extra day.
As an IHG member I always have late checkout with no extra charges, I just went as a curtsy to let them know, I even told the front desk person that I am an IHG member but she did not want to hear it and said leave all the other rooms and go in 1 room and send even for that you have only 15 minutes to leave and 5 minutes later a person named Marcella came to the room and said you should have left 25 minutes ago we need the room empty now.
By rushing to get out of there one of my kids got her hand in the door and got hurt, I come out with the whole family to enjoy and got this kind of experience is just hurtful.
Everywhere I go, I get great experience in holiday inn and holiday inn express, that’s why I I always stay with holiday inn but after today’s experience I don’t know if I’ll choose holiday inn for my next trips.

Is the point system a scam?

Is the point system a scam?
I hope not.
Have stayed at Holiday inn express many times - Always a pleasant and helpful staff at Warwick Uk.
Tried to book - we have 15K points - only 7K points needed for the favourable rate - yet website refuses to take the booking saying we don’t have enough points for the booking at a more favourable rate.
Telephoned their reservation number - very unhelpful person - who had difficulty adding up - wanted us to book at 30% higher than without any points.
Left a bad taste!!!
Booked with Premier Inn this time.
When I mentioned that Ito the reservation department I might stay at Premier inn - couldn’t careless attitude was discerned. Again I hope I am wrong.

Holiday inn Newcastle upon Tyne paid…

Holiday inn Newcastle upon Tyne paid for 2 nights accommodation this was cancelled due to covid and was not allowed to return book despite paying 12 months in advance ... really poor customer service you could have let me rebook but you choose to keep the money well I will never stay in a holiday inn for personal or business ever again your loss money means more than customer satisfaction... poor show during a pandemic

This is an example of when the staff go over and above the expectation.
First of all our overnight stay there was great obviously we would like the pool to be open etc, but during the virus this type of thing isn't happening.
When we arrived the staff on the front desk were very pleasant and took the time to chat to the kids.
Breakfast was absolutely great delicious food and a very efficient service.
When things go wrong it really matters, I managed to leave my laptop in the room I didn't spot this until the evening, the following morning staff at the hotel found the laptop for me me and we arrange to have it collected. It was even wrapped for me me in a very safe way so the journey was perfectly fine.

No Refund for Covid-19

I paid in advance for five nights of June 2020 at Holiday Inn Kensington-London. Then because of Covid-19 this hotel restricted its guests during that period to only those who were "essential," while England closed its borders to American tourists. This Holiday Inn refused to refund my money (1059GBP) even though they could not provide service to me.

Disappointing Afternoon Tea

I booked and paid for the Halloween Afternoon Tea, at the Holiday Inn at Worth, for myself and my eldest son. We were very excited as we walked into a fog filled corridor and into a room full of Halloween decorations. That’s where the excitement ended. The raspberry juice listed on the menu was unavailable. Instead my son was served a cheap cordial with water, which he refused to drink. The brownie on the kids afternoon tea was also disgusting and the adult’s afternoon tea wasn’t much better. The cheesecake hadn’t set, the measly slice of red velvet cake fell apart and the sandwiches were dry. I contacted the hotel directly but have received no reply. Very disappointed.

HOLIDAY INN NORTH CANNOCK

Doesn’t deserve 1 star
Absolutely disgusted with how we have been treated. Booked a room to walk into and it be filthy, beds not made, not cleaned. To walk into this during times like this with COVID is unacceptable
Returned to the reception to say our room hasn’t been cleaned and was told by “duty manager” Roxanne that they have no more double rooms left and that we do not qualify for a refund because it’s less then 24 hours notice.

Norwich Airport. Rooms are fine. Avoid the food.

Stayed at Norwich airport in Sept 2020. Accommodation is nice enough. Food was very poor. Had a curry which felt like it had been microwaved. Meat was tough, dry and rubbery. English Breakfast was dried out and greasy. If you stay here, eat elsewhere. McDonalds is next door, just over the road.

Holiday Inn Express Stoke-on-Trent

We recently stayed 2 nights at Holiday Inn Express, Stoke-on-Trent. We are a large family so had 2 rooms. The staff were welcoming & helpful, our clothes were all wet from a rainy day at Alton Towers, staff got us a clothes horse & a plug in heater. Excellent service.
The rooms were clean & tidy. The bed was clean & comfortable. Breakfast was well organised (social distance) & all tasted good. Would stay there again & highly recommend to others.

Holiday Inn Telford a lovely place been…

Holiday Inn Telford a lovely place been before booked bed and breakfast for 2 nights. I know things have changed due to Covid but to be honest I wouldn’t have payed for the breakfast because it was dire for the money. Was asked at reception if I knew that breakfast was a grab and go so basically a choice of a sausage or bacon muffin, yoghurt, a small danish and a juice. I didn’t know because I wouldn’t have booked a breakfast as I could have walked into the town centre and paid half price for a sit down breakfast which I was expecting. But in the evening the restaurant was open for dinner!! So why couldn’t they cooked breakfast to order in the morning so at least we could have had something edible. Next time I will only book room only. Very disappointed to say the least
